President
Tyra Rogers
Theta Sigma, Miles College

Tyra Rogers is a graduate from Miles College who majored in actuarial science with the goal of becoming an actuary scientist. She is a member of the Steaming Flags color guard and also plays flute and violin. Since crossing into the Theta Sigma chapter in Spring 2019, she has served as the chapter’s membership educator, Focus on Five liaison, vice president, and president. Her favorite thing about Tau Beta Sigma is the network of like-minded, music-loving individuals that she gets to work with. In her spare time, Tyra likes to crochet, sew, paint, and garden.

Marin Kelly
Alpha Omega, Florida State University

Marin Kelly is a senior pursuing her Bachelors of Music Education at Florida State University. She is set to graduate after interning at an Elementary School in Orlando, FL in Spring 2024. Marin became a sister of the Alpha Omega chapter in Spring 2021. In her time as an active, she has served as the on the Ways and Means Committee, Social Committee, Formal Chair, and most recently served as Vice President of Membership, helping to initiate 19 members into the chapter over the course of two semesters. On the district level, she served as CMEP Committee Chair for the 2022-23 year, and is thrilled to be serving as Vice President of Membership for the SED! Marin plays trumpet in the FSU Marching Chiefs and played in the basketball pep band, Seminole Sound, from 2019-2022. She served in several leadership positions in Chiefs, such as Section Leader, and Uniform Staff, which organizes the uniforms for staff and helps dress forms on the field. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with her friends, catching up on sleep, and watching the newest Bachelor episodes.

Carissa Kettering
Alpha Omega, Florida State University

Carissa Kettering is a fourth-year at Florida State University pursuing her Bachelor of Arts in Music and English - Creative Writing. She is set to graduate in the spring of 2024, and whatever she does after that, she’ll be doing it to support her cat, Margot! Carissa became a sister of the Alpha Omega chapter in Fall 2021, and since then, she has had the pleasure of serving as the chapter’s Secretary and Segue Chair, and currently serves as her chapter’s Vice President of Membership as well as Marketing Co-Coordinator for the chapter’s benefit concert, For Greater Music. In her free time, Carissa enjoys playing Sims, reading, writing, dabbling in fiber arts, and cuddling with Margot.

 

Fun fact: Marin is Carissa’s roommate and one of her bigs, making Carissa the fourth in her line to serve on the district council!

Janae McCloud
Iota Omicron, Benedict College

Janae L. McCloud was born and raised in Marietta, GA, but moved to South Carolina to attend Benedict College, where she eventually crossed into Tau Beta Sigma in the Spring of 2022. At Benedict, Janae played the alto saxophone and also served as Drum Major during her senior year for the Benedict College Marching Tiger Band of Distinction. McCloud has been an all-around student leader, has been involved in many organizations, and has even had the honor of traveling to places like New York and Virginia with the BCBOD.

 

In May 2023, Janae earned her B.S. in Biology at Benedict College. Afterwards, she traveled to the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC, to work on a 12-month research project surrounding Biomedical Sciences. When this journey ends, she plans on embarking once more toward earning her Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences to assist in disease diagnosis, prevention, and treatment worldwide.

Allison Ranatza
Iota Lambda, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

Allison Ranatza (they/she) is a sophomore student from Charlotte, NC, pursuing a dual degree in Information Science & Media and Journalism at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. They crossed into the Iota Lambda Chapter of Tau Beta Sigma in Fall 2022, and has since served as its Historian and Webmaster. Also during her time at UNC-CH, Allison has worked as a Resident Advisor in Carolina Housing, played clarinet in the Marching Tar Heels, and been the Social Media Manager for UNC Bands. Allison has a huge passion for music, service, and sisterhood, and can now express all three values through her first year as SED Webmaster!

Fun Fact: Allison is a two-time North Carolina All-State Musician!
